Mountain Monthly

Connecting the Kinglake Ranges

Welcome

In the first edition of the Mountain Monthly the extract below appeared as an editorial about the ‘MM’. I will leave it up to you the reader to determine how the Mountain Monthly has been true to what we set out to do some 30 years ago.

“The Mountain Monthly has been started by a group of Kinglake and district residents to help fill the need for more effective communication within the area. We aim to print what you think as important, whether you are a member of a community group, advertising an event, or a private individual with something to say. We will also include articles of general community interest. Letters to the Editor are most welcome. The Mountain Monthly is not just for adults but is also a vehicle for children – stories, poetry etc are most welcome. We are relying on your continued interest and contributions to make the Mountain Monthly a success.”

Being a resident of just over 20 years and having recently become Chairman of the Board of Directors I am proud of the history of this our Mountain Monthly and of the contribution that all of those who have led to its success have made.

I have asked our editor to put together a potted history of the highlights over the years for your interest. Please enjoy that journey as you read this article.
